Burnout syndrome and empathy and altruism level among nurses - the preliminary study.

The aim of the study was to verify level burnout severity in nursing staff working various health care sectors that were not dedicated providing services people with COVID-19 infection. relationship between empathy, altruism and depression intensity individual indicators also analyzed. professional among respondents.
 covered a total 178 - employed psychiatric (64 people) other (114 people). participants completed five questionnaires: sociodemographic four clinical tests: Christina Maslach's Burnout Questionnaire, Beck Depression Scale, Balanced Emotional Empathy Altruistic Attitudes Questionnaire. Using tests, following assessed: general index occupational its three dimensions (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization job satisfaction), depression, emotional empathy. Nursing characterized by lower levels exhaustion depersonalization, as well satisfaction compared average medical than psychiatric. Moreover, positive correlation found both groups (psychiatric versus non-psychiatric staff). representatives units are burnout, case sectors. A higher is associated greater depressive symptoms. Differences may result from specificity work It should be emphasized chronicity, recurrence mental illnesses, rate rehospitalisation patients disorders or delayed effect therapeutic process.
